Miriad Sponsor Guiness World Record Attempt

Miriad Representatives Richard Toon, Dave Elson and Shaun Leek meet ex England captain Neil Back before Saturdays World record Attempt

Members of Barton under Needwood Rugby Club and it’s friends attempted to set a new world record for the largest uncontested scrum. The present Guinness World Record was set in September 2015 by Sports Impact (UK) of Middlesex with 1,198 players. To set the new record Barton hoped to scrum down with 1200 friends and family. But it wasn't just about getting in the famous Guinness Book of World Records, we also helped to raise money to support charities and create needed funds to support the clubs facilities.

Unfortunately the dreadful British weather played it's part in keeping folks away and the club fell short of the world record by a couple of hundred.

Barton club officials thanked Miriad for our support "We just wanted to drop you a note to thank you so much for all your support. Saturday was a fantastic day for our club, village and community as a whole. It's such a shame the weather dampened our effort. However, we won't let that beat us, watch this space and let's see if we can get this cracked again!!"

Hopefully the event will be repeated soon and the World Record can be attempted again!
